Escher plays with unusual vanishing points in this drawing. In the middle of the picture, the up/down orientation shifts. In the top half of the picture you are looking up, in the bottom half you are looking down. To make it complete, up and down are showing the same scene.

actually the top half you are looking down and the bottom half is looking up.... i think? :P
