Rotating Mask Illusion Created by Gianni A. Sarcone

This is an animation of a rotating hollow mask. At the moment you see the back, so that the hollow side is pointing to you, something surprising happens. It doesn't look hollow, it looks like a normal mask - rotating the other way ! The most probable reason is that our vision doesn't accept hollow faces.

I see it as a hallow mask if I look at it, only when I don't pay attention to it, and look at something else, and see it in my peripheral vision, does it look like its rotating backwards.

All I see is a hollow mask rotating counter clock wise if you were looking at it from above. i was able to get it to reverse direction for a second at a time a couple of times but I can't make it stick out on both sides. There is always a hollow side. Oh I found it neat if I was looking at it with just my peripheral vision it would reverse direction until I focused my vision back on it at which point it would go back to counter clock wise.

Yeah I only see it with my peripheral vision. It always dissappears when I look at it.
