This is a fantastic illusion ! Stare at the cross in the center and you will see a series of events :
- A circle of purple spots, one spot disappears clockwise.
- A circle of purple spots, one spot turns green clockwise.
- THE GREEN SPOT EATS THE PURPLE ONES !.
- Only the green spot remains, circling around the cross.

If you stare at it then look away you may see a circle of green dots.

The only thing I did not see was when the green was suppose to be circling the cross by itself...
yea thats really COOL
its a fake. its not an illusion...........
The dots do disappear. The static position of the redish dots makes them to no importance to the brain and the information gets thrown away. The remaining green is the brain figuring out how to see grey the fastest way again. Green is a short result of the transition back. As the cones in the eye see red, green and blue. So most people will see greenish blue, light blue or white. Human eyes/brains have evolved to see the deformed fractal world around us. That makes more sense ;-)
Magenta (the "purple") and green are complementary colours (for light rather than for pigments) - staring at the purple dots for a while temporarily "knocks out" blue and red receptors in the retina and that only leaves green receptors active; as you see green dots the green receptors also get "knocked out" for a second or so and the dots seem to disappear completely until your receptors become active again and the cycle repeats. If you look over the top of the screen, i.e. when you're sh
it dosnt work 4 me
that's cool
why do i see the color blue??
its totally fake... right click on image and save or copy to any image editing software... it stops working
It is hilarious that people are calling this fake. It seems that every day I find reasons to believe that people are dumber than I previously thought possible.
"JP - Tuesday 13 December 2011 It is hilarious that people are calling this fake. It seems that every day I find reasons to believe that people are dumber than I previously thought possible." My sentiment entirely. Some people should not be allowed to use computers!
Im using a smartphone and when i zoom in the circle and press and hold on the screen, i clearly see that there is one dot not there but it doesnt move or chnge position. So that part of disappearing dots is fake but the green dots and them eating others is real illusion.
this illusion is unbelivable
Wow! and if you look at a different spot on the white screen really fast when the purple dots are all "eaten", there's like an explosion of green dots in a circle!!:)
